Define YOUR Success

We have what we seek

Lately I’ve been on a really introspective kick. I’ve always been self analytical, but these past few weeks I’ve stepped it up a notch. One of the things that’s been on my mind is success. Not just success in general terms. Rather, what does success look like for ME specifically? In order to help me refine my personal definition of success, I’ve been meditating on a few quotes. I hope that they also help you to define YOUR success.

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” -Maya Angelou

“Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s a stepping-stone to success.” – Elli Stassinopoulos

“There’s no such thing as failure. It’s just God trying to move you in another direction.” – Oprah Winfrey

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”- Jim Rohn

“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” -Swami Vivekananda

“Live life as though everything is rigged in your favor.”-Rumi

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”- Romans 8:28

The above quotes may seem random, but they all speak to some area of success. I believe success is achieving whatever it is that you set out to do, to your OWN satisfaction. No matter how large or small, how phenomenal or seemingly insignificant a task might be, if you complete it to your personal satisfaction, then you are a success. It’s not always about money, status or accolades. Those things are wonderful- in their proper perspective. Ironically, once you define your success and chase after that vision wholeheartedly, everything else will fall into place.

What’s does success look like for you?
