I spent the weekend writing future blog posts and shamelessly promoting When the Real Thing Comes Along. When Memphis’ version of the winter vortex hit, my weekend became unexpectedly extended, and I can’t say I was disappointed. Needless to say, my partying days were temporarily suspended and I happily cozied up to catch up on all my favorite ratchet reality TV shows. Now I’m back in business and I’ll be hanging with Mrs. N over at Princess of the Light!

What do you do on an unexpected day off from work? What are your favorite shows to binge watch on Netflix? Don’t forget to stop by and holler at me on Princess of the Light!
Thank you so much for appearing on my blog today, Faith! 🙂 Awww sounds like a nice relaxing day for you! We stayed in all weekend, ate amazing food and watched our favorite romantic movies (Love Actually, Pride and Prejudice, Sleepless in Seattle, Ladyhawke, Simply Irresistible, etc). On a snow day, I love to watch old movies. 🙂

Thank YOU for hosting me!
I enjoyed every minute of my unexpected day off. I love watching old movies too, although it’s been a while since I have. Musicals from the 40’s and 50’s are the best!
There’s nothing like a romantic weekend curled up with your boo! It sounds like you all had a nice relaxing Valentine’s weekend. 🙂

I still don’t have Netflix although for some reason I got stuck paying for my daughter’s ;). But my new favorite shows Fresh Off the Boat which is the first sitcom I’ve watched in years. But it’s refreshing to see the first Asian-American TV show in, wait for it, 20 years!

Lol! That’s what daughters are for right? But guess what? You can add up to 4 or 5 people on a single Netflix account, so you can take advantage of what you’re already paying for by creating a separate profile. But I have to warn you that Netflix is the kryptonite of writers…endless potential writing hours are drained away every time I long on.
And I need to check out ‘Fresh off the Boat’. I’ve heard of it, but never tuned in. It’s amazing that there are a couple of popular shows that capitalizing off of satirizing previously negative racial terms like “Fresh of the Boat” and “Black-ish”. Empowerment through ridicule…it kind of works for me!

I’m learning how to do the “R” thing and am having fun figuring it out. I recently binged watched Mountain Men Netflix (don’t ask me why — I couldn’t tell you). It caught my attention. Mind you, I couldn’t eat meat for a couple of days after but I enjoyed it. 😉

Lol, you’re not alone in stumbling across some weirdly fascinating stuff on Netflix. It’s like it draws you in and you can’t look away! I’m glad you’re learning to make time to relax. It’s amazing how much more we eventually accomplish when we take time to chill out. 🙂

Great interview! And I am a reformed Netflixaholic. I binge-watched Dexter and Scandal and barely came up for air. I had to get delivered, girl. And I’d have to say that my favorite ratchet TV show is Bad Girls Club. Don’t judge me…

Netflixaholic, lol, I love it! I’ve been eyeing Dexter for a while and this confirms that it will be my next indulgence. And Scandal….I watched the first two seasons on Netflix and I’ve been a gladiator ever since. Although I’m feeling some kinda way about Olivia being auctioned off…I’m just going to trust that Shonda is going somewhere with that.
No judgment on Bad Girls Club! I’m a Kardashian fan and I’ve been known to happily watch Little Women LA for hours: nuff said. #JudgementFreeZone
