Y’all Ain’t Ready: Cover Reveal!!!!!!!

I’m one ridiculously happy nerd right now! Yesterday, my awesome editor returned my manuscript. While I haven’t worked up enough nerve to actually look at it (all I see in my head is an entire sea of red markings) I’m really excited about getting down to the nitty-gritty revisions. To celebrate the return of my edited manuscript I want to share my book cover with you lovely people!

When the Real Thing Comes Along

Jacelynn thought the mistakes of her past were history. But when her past and her present collide…Is faith enough to see her through?

Book Description

Jacelynn loved and lost…Will faith give her the courage she needs to love again?

Jacelynn appears to have it all together: a great relationship with her boyfriend Jason who is truly a man after God’s own heart, a decent career and the love of family and friends. But when an unwelcome reminder from her past shows up, her previously uncomplicated world is turned upside down.  Will she jeopardize what she has with Jason in an attempt to rewrite the mistakes of her past?

They say you never forget your first love, no matter how hard you try. So far, Jacelynn has done a pretty good job of forgetting Taylor, the boy who had her heart first. When Taylor returns several years later as a man requesting a second chance, what’s a girl to do…Especially when she already has a new man?

The hidden issues ofJacelynn’s heart come to light and she’s forced take a hard look in the mirror while making choices that will change her future forever. Will she be able to reconcile who she was then, with who she is in Christ now?

Living and loving in faith isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. That’s what happens…

When the Real Thing Comes Along

Excuse me while I go ‘head and C-walk for a minute in the name of Jesus! OK, I’m done now.  Y’all just don’t know how long I’ve been looking forward to this. In the not so distant future, my novel will finally be completely ready for fellow geek and hopeless romantic consumption! I can see the finish line on the horizon. Woot-woot! (That’s me tooting my own horn).

What do you think of the cover? Have you ever read a Christian Fiction Romance Novel? If you’re an author, do you get nervous when you get your first round edits back? Do you fall in love with your book covers? Holla’ at your girl!

*My book cover was designed by Michelle Stimpson (fabulous author and obviously amazing book cover designer). Click here to view her e-book cover design website.

  1. Yay! Woot woot! So excited for you. Can NOT wait to read this book! You gone be all up in my ereader, LOL! And yes, I always get nervous when I get edits back. It’s like knowingly stepping in front of the firing squad. Can’t wait to add this to my Goodreads shelf. And I love the cover. It’s simple but well done and it pops. Congrats!

  2. WHOO HOO! Way to go Faith! WHOO HOO! *throws confetti* I adore the blurb and the cover is so eye-catching! I always get nervous getting the first round of edits back. O-O My whole body quakes. LOL! I can’t wait to hear more about it! Rock those edits, girl! 🙂

  3. WOOT! Yes, ma’am, a gorgeous beautiful spectacular cover! I’m so happy you have your manuscript to “unwrap.” Remember that every red mark is another movement toward the finished product! So happy for you, Faith. Happy Thanksgiving! xo

    • Thanks Luanne! Unwrapping the manuscript is a great way to think of it: like opening a great gift that you have to put together to enjoy. I’m gearing up to learn all that I can from the process. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

    • Thanks Barb! I’ll do my best to enjoy the editing process. I think I’m a typical author in that I have a hard time cutting unnecessary parts of the story. I’m praying that I’ll be able to do what it takes!

    • LOL! Thanks Ann and OF COURSE you’ll get a signed copy. Thanks for all your comments as an intense beta reader. They really helped and I got the same overall feedback from Dawn: to write tighter in order to have a greater impact on the reader. I’ve still got work to do, but I’m almost there! Then, it’s on to the next one. 🙂

  4. Psyched for you!!! Cover looks compelling and though Christian fiction is new ground for me, I look forward to reading it! (Also, I know a lot of librarians, so I’m sure I’ll be dropping some recommendations their way…. ^_^) What a great holiday season this will be for you!

    • Thanks Sunshine! I appreciate that you’re willing to try out a new genre out of regard for lil’ ol’ me. I hope you’ll enjoy it! And YES I would love any recommendations to librarians. I’m actually planning to donate some copies to a few of my local libraries simply because I LOVE them. I honestly think the concept of loaning books was one of the BEST. IDEAS. EVER.

  5. Beautiful, eye-catching cover, Faith. And ah, the dreaded edits. Maybe I’m weird, but I actually enjoy editing more than writing the first draft. (This from a woman who likes having her teeth cleaned. lol) To me, the hard work is out of the way and the fun part begins.

    • Thanks for the compliment! It’s so simple, but I fell in love with this cover. I WISH I enjoyed editing as much as you do. I’m trying to change my mentality in regards to it though. One of the authors I admire a lot is Toni Morrison and she said that there is limitless freedom in editing and revising. I’m working on viewing it as a good thing!
